Digital Age Storyteller

I was always the new kid in school. We moved around a fair amount, and until Grade 4, I went to a new school every year; in a different district, a different city, and once in a different country. And I loved it. Every year, I was gifted with fresh audiences to listen to my tales of adventure. A whole batch of new friends who weren’t sick of hearing about the time I almost died from chicken pox, or how I ended up playing in a steel drum band. Because I simply love to tell stories. And as a child of both a journalist and a documentary director/writer, it’s in my blood.

I believe the key to powerful storytelling is sensitivity. I purposely structure my interviews to ensure all my subjects are at ease; from my pre-interview process, to the crew I hire, all the way through to empathy-led post production.

This belief in sensitive storytelling is coupled with my passion for giving a voice to the overlooked. I specialize in mining the untold stories of healthcare and nonprofits; a platform for vulnerable members of our population and undercover heroes.

In an ever-changing industry, the move to all things digital has only reinforced the approach I take to storytelling. Because you know what hasn’t changed? How we emotionally connect with one another. Stories matter. Stories last generations, and cross continents. Stories bring people together, they help us see eye-to-eye, they speak to our hearts and they let people see your true value. People connect with people.

So together, let’s raise funds, speak to investors, get new audiences, sell your product, launch your startup.

It all starts with a story. And I can’t wait to tell it.
